May 8, 9 2004 Saturday : - Enola, by the Eat & Park : Not too many units in the yard and by the engine terminal. There were 2 dirty UP units among the NS black and ex CR blue. Some of the NS units had the new Horseheads scheme w/ the white on the top of the cab for better visibility. Overview : There were 5 trains at various stages of entering, leaving and switching the yard. One consist had a "grey ghost" an ex CR unit, and NS high hood and a new Horsehead unit. After the throat of the yard cleared out, on to the boat launch. Rockville Bridge, boat launch : Took up a postion at the boat launch to watch the parade of train Mixed freight - NS UP NS NS all widecabs, last NS a high hood uinit Stack train - NS CR widecabs Amtrack shot over the bridge - looke like a Genesis for power - Stack train was in front of it and could not see it. Stack train - NS units Mixed freight - NS, grey ghost, CR, Southern Paciific - long block of gons in front Stack train - single NS widecab Unit coal train - NS widecab and another NS unit All gon train - NS widecab and CR widecab Meet on bridge - Stack train w/ horsehead unit and Junk freight 2 NS widecabs Coal train on Buffalo line sitting Sunday - Pittston Junction : A few R&N units and a switcher at rest Taylor Yard : : CP units resting 2 D&H units - #7303 and #7312 working local heading south.
