North End Trestles at High WaterHere are some shots of the Trestles in the North End of Wilkes-Barre at High Water. The concrete abutments and steel beams are from the Laurel Line. The trestle from the tracks that served the Dorrance Colliery have been converted into a road bridge to access the substation behind the Graveyard. At one point in time the Laurel Line bridge was the site of an aqueduct for the old North Branch Canal and the Court House parking lot was a boat basin. |
