Bridge Abutment, Station Stop Dupont ...
A concrete abutment and stone retaining wall is all that is left of the Dupont Station Stop. The Pittston Bypass is now on the site of the original right-of-way. Laurel Street is the road in the photo. In the far background is the overpass for the bypass.
According to past Chapter Calendars, at one time Laurel Street was the only road in this area. The Pittston Bypass (RT 11) was a railroad roadbed at one time. At one time the Laurel Line used it, and in later years the Erie.
The Butler Breaker was at the site of the present day Pittston Plaza / Pittson Commons shopping center.
